"Twitch VODs"[]

Hey there,

I've noticed you've been replacing some YouTube videos with "Twitch VODs". The videos seem to have been uploaded to Twitch using their new YouTube-rivaling feature which has only been out for around a month. When I saw the edit summary I assumed it was referring to previously broadcasted videos which are deleted after 60 days, and between that and the red link for your talk page I guessed you were a new user more interested in promoting their Twitch channel than the quality of mainspace vidoes on the wiki. I've done some digging and, obviously, those assumptions of mine were incorrect.

Other users might get the same impression and be quicker to revert your edits. Maybe a different edit summary might be a good way of clarifying things? --sarno12445 TALK 19:41, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

I apologize for the confusion. Would it be helpful to have them tagged as Curse videos? With the exception of one video addition, all the changes were simply swapping the video out for the Twitch version of the same video. --Alianin TC 20:11, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
No apology necessary - I just thought it might save you some possible future headache. :)
I feel like "Twitch VOD" tends to be understood as 'past broadcast', because they've been basically synonymous for years. A quick check first should show people what's up, but sometimes when it comes to community wikis you get what you pay for. :P Maybe just "updating video" or "changing to different host" or something? I generally try to use edit summaries to clarify things which cause confusion, and what brought me to your talk page was that it was the edit summary itself which stood out to me as being weird. --sarno12445 TALK 20:25, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
Ah, I see what you're saying now. I appreciate the feedback. Sometimes it's hard to remember that not everyone knows certain terminology when I have been inundated with it. ;D Thank you! --Alianin TC 20:36, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
