Map Type: Outdoors

Boss Arena

The arena is a patio with an inner square surrounded by a column arrangement. Corners provide cover from enemies, while the edges of the square consist of railings that can be shot over. Each edge has at least one passage between the inner and the outer part of the arena and the bottom corner is blocked by a hedge. Sallazzang starts summoning Devourers as soon as someone enters the arena, but the entrance seals when he's engaged (when someone walks into his vision range).

Boss

Sallazzang, a unique Plumed Chimeral with the following abilities:

  • Devours corpses.
  • Summons Devourers (normal and rare).
  • Energy shield.

Strategy

Sallazzang starts the fight at half health, but devouring a single corpse rapidly regenerates about a quarter of his life. If possible, avoid killing anything but Sallazzang or destroy any corpses before he devours them.
Summoned devourers can be normal, small (lower damage) or rare. The chance for rare devourers seems to depend on the map level, so in Zana's missions it might be lower. In the regular fight you can expect up to three rare devourers to start with. Because there is a cap on how many devourers he can have summoned at the same time (around 20) and their type is random, killing rare and normal devourers while leaving the small ones is a viable strategy. Summoned devourers die when Sallazzang is killed.
