WOW![]

Looks impressive, but... I think I'm out now. Transformed the new table structure to de* today and it seems that most of the new templates etc again are not accessable cross-language (noticed with the new 'header' template, which first worked not at all, and then (copied) did not get the background colour). Since I guess (and it seems that) the new styles are spread over the whole wiki, I really cant and wont imagine to adapt all this one-by-one manually; and even less under the still very annoying login problems. --Mr.Cee (talk) 16:51, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

I'm still chasing people to get those *very* annoying issues resolved. I'll shoot you a pm on the forum when they are. You've been a huge help on this site, so I hope you'll come back when it's all resolved. Iamacyborg (talk) 17:36, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
The header template includes a class that needs to be added to MediaWiki:Common.css. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon talk 17:41, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Seems that the new layout transformed well for the german sites too, didnt looked into the depth for now. Thanks! --Mr.Cee (talk) 08:46, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Now for the details: (Of course,) the change only affects the general style of the site (the look), and not the coded formatting, like the header template. Can somebody explain to me, what causes this general change? Is it just setting beside/behind the site's code?--Mr.Cee (talk) 08:51, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Yep, the change was a CSS skin only, there was no change to the underlying HTML structure of the website itself. The change was applied through a modification of the Vector.css files which affect the way the website displays. This can be done in one of two ways, either changing Mediawiki:Vector.css or actually changing the files that are in the /skins folder. Iamacyborg (talk) 19:29, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Quest Templates[]

I've been working on a template for the Quest Rewards (Template:Quest Rewards Row and Template:Quest Rewards Top. They work as intended, from your page you can call upon the template with a variable and you get the table row on your page, but all the information is currently implemented in the template. I was thinking about using wiki categories to make it automatically generate the info like a database, but I'm not sure if that could work. --Splinturr (talk) 09:46, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

The category system in wiki software doesn't actually work in the way you are thinking. There are ways to use wiki templates to store data which can then be output in various ways by formatting templates, but it's quite complicated and requires careful planning. For now, we should just focus on putting up all the static information we can since the wiki is far from complete. —Vinifera7 (talk) 10:11, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
I was afraid that would be the case. We have to find a way to verify all the rewards though, because some aren't filled in on the Quest Rewards page but are filled in on the Quest page itself. Maybe get the info from the Google Doc that's floating around? --Splinturr (talk) 10:51, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Time To Reorganise?[]

We've got a whole load of new pages that could be really useful to link from the homepage, and I think a general tidy is in order anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what they'd like to see or how they'd like to see it formatted? Curse produced that beginner's guide video that could fit really well on the homepage as well. Iamacyborg (talk) 19:35, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Reoganisation of the main page: depends on inagionation about amount and structure of the new content to make a guess... In de.* I already moved non-item related links from the left side to the Wraeclat general section righthands (like suggested some time ago). I'm not sure about the "future" of the Item Affix and Modifiers pages, seems to be a redunant topic to me, even for the actual slightly different content. Beginner video: probably add to the arpb guide/introduction page, or if there is more to come, an own tutorials page like I use in de.* ? --Mr.Cee (talk) 12:04, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
I think there should be a link to more information about the difficulties on the main page. Grysh (talk) 15:59, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
The classes section is way too big. Class is fairly non-important in this game, this isn't diablo II where class is everything. I imagine people come to the wiki looking for a very specific piece of information, the main page try to make it easy for people to find what they're looking for. I would do something like this: User:Malice/Proposed_main_page. There might be better ways of laying it out but I like the idea of having all the main stuff linked there. There's a lot of red links there but a lot of them could be filled by re-directs. I'm going to write a bunch of articles to fill the rest soon. — Malice (talk) 17:03, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
I like it, but it needs something to break up the text. Looks incredibly intimidating for a newcomer like that I think. Iamacyborg (talk) 22:23, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Yeah it is pretty dense, but at least everything is available there and bot buried behind multiple clicks. I'm too busy updating the skill pages right now to design a sexy main page. — Malice (talk) 13:31, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
It really needs an update soon though, the most prominent links (classes and boss monsters) are either not terribly useful, or mainly just copy-pasted text from the website. I'd wager most visitors come to see the gem leveling tables, investigate certain mechanics, or find out how to get past tree roots - not read duplicated flavour text from the official site. — Malice (talk) 13:41, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Unique List[]

Please put a link to the Full Uniques List after the Unique Items link. I bookmarked it anyway, but I think the main page ought to have links to the most frequently accessed things. General information about uniques in the game is nice, but I think people would most often be looking for the complete list. CaleGibbard (talk) 06:33, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Hey, looking at Google Analytics it looks like the full index isn't any more popular than the individual pages, so I'm not sure it's worth putting on the homepage. Particularly as it's fairly prominently placed on the Unique Items page. Iamacyborg (talk) 10:18, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Quivers[]

A link to Quivers needs to be added to this page.--FaceLicker (talk) 15:29, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

External Link Formatting[]

|'''<span class="plainlinks">[http://www.exilepro.com/builds Character Builds]</span>'''
'''<span class="plainlinks">[http://www.exilepro.com/forums/general/general-discussion Build Discussions]</span>'''

Links to external sites shouldn't be formatted the same as internal wiki links. There are good reasons why external links are normally and consistently formatted differently. I would change it, but I'm not allowed :P -AnnanFay (talk) 22:42, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

I've been wanting to fix this, but never got around to it. I have removed the plainlinks styles from the links you mentioned and the news feed. —Vinifera7 (talk) 00:54, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Are we ever going to rework the front page?[]

I know there was a conversation a while ago about rearranging things and deciding what links were most important. Is there still any interest in that?Magnanimous2 (talk) 05:43, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Yes there is. If you have an idea for it you can create a demo in your userspace for us to review. —Vini (t|c) 14:05, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
Here is what I came up with for a first draft. Not sure which links should be added or removed, so I'd like a second opinion. Also I feel like there should be a picture somewhere instead of just walls of text, but I couldn't decide what or where... Magnanimous2 (talk) 01:48, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
It's a little drab, but a good start. The most important thing is to link to the content areas that people would most likely want to view the most, such as skills and items. —Vini (t|c) 02:04, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
Would seeing the top 50 landing pages on the site help at all? Might give you a good indicator of what people are searching for and what information they're after. Iamacyborg (talk) 08:45, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
That would probably help. I've also asked around a little in global chat and talked to my friends, and a lot of people said they come to the wiki to look up uniques and the range of stats that uniques can roll. Finding out what quality does on each skill gem was also mentioned, so I added that link in the skills section.
This is the current revision... I re-added (and shrunk) the exile pictures and changed the layout, so it isn't just a wall of text. Magnanimous2 (talk) 09:34, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
I'll get you those details asap. It might be worth seeing if we can add links to the stuff that'll be new for 1.0.0 like the Scion and the new Trigger Gems, people will definitely want to know about those. Iamacyborg (talk) 12:38, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
Here's a link to the top 50 landing pages on the wiki for the month of September: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_xAY_A7rQKheVZ2UXZsMzA0LXc/edit?usp=sharing I'm more than happy to grab any more info you might find useful. Unfortunately thanks to the changes google have made to Keyword data, I'm not able to see what the top keywords people are using to get to the site, which would have been really helpful Iamacyborg (talk) 14:10, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, that definitely helps. I added links to Waypoint and Chat Console, and moved the item mechanics section higher since it's so popular.
I guess now we just need to make the 1.0 pages, or at least start them. Also do you know where the exile pictures on the front page came from? Right now the scion is a kiwi. Magnanimous2 (talk) 04:09, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
Looks great to me, and I'd be more than happy to make that the homepage once 1.0.0 goes live. The exile pictures are from Closed Beta, it'll probably be worth switching to the images available on this page once the new content goes live. Iamacyborg (talk) 12:43, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
Just an idea: maybe you could add a link to the Rogue Exiles under the 'Bestiary' tab, since they will be roaming all leagues in Wraeclast after release. The frontpage looks good! SirProblematique 22:50, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
That sounds good, thanks. I just added the link. Magnanimous2 (talk) 02:45, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
New cahracter images are available here: https://www.pathofexile.com/game Iamacyborg (talk) 16:48, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
I've been talking with the owner of Path of POE who's interested in getting an RSS block on the new wiki homepage showing the 4 latest builds submitted to the site. Can we rework the new page slightly to fit that in? I'll build the RSS side of things. Iamacyborg (talk) 09:46, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
That sounds really cool. Do you know how much space it would need? I'll probably just add another column to the right of gameplay mechanics and community. Also do you want to make any changes to the Community section? There's a few good fan sites we could link to (although there's already the fan portal), and I'm not sure if people use the IRC channel these days. Magnanimous2 (talk) 10:53, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
There'll be 4 items max in the block and the titles don't tend to be too long so it shouldn't need a huge amount of space. With regards to the community block I think it could be used more as a starting point to show people how to join in and edit the wiki, I can make that change myself this evening. I've wanted to create the fan portal section as a series of articles about individual fan sites as I think there's a little more value in that for all sides involves, but it involves more work. Iamacyborg (talk) 11:16, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
I've improved the crafting page (not done yet, but will work on it tonight) and i thought it maybe deserved a place on the frontpage... what do you think? SirProblematique
Sure, that looks pretty good. I added the link. Magnanimous2 (talk) 17:42, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Are we ready to make the switch? :) Iamacyborg (talk) 11:08, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────I don't see why not. The old front page isn't getting any fresher. —Vini (t|c) 11:20, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Cool beans, I'll make the switch now. Iamacyborg (talk) 11:50, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

The History of Wraeclast article link on main page?[]

There is currently not a single link to the History of Wraeclast article, or any kind of lore really. Might want to include that in the "The World" box. Cilibinarii (talk) 18:00, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

I see you've put a lot of work in that article since release! I second this, the proletariat rises for front-page lore!

FootHands (talk) 11:14, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Updates[]

Some suggestions, since the front page hasn't been edited in a few weeks:

  • Add | 6 to Races
  • Link the PoE twitter page in Community
  • Link the PoE subreddit in Community (it's very active, and they do have a link to us)
  • Change the wiki IRC link to #pathofexile (there were 136 people online when I checked it out)
  • Add History of Wraeclast under a new Lore subheading
  • The patch notes box is pretty empty, so maybe list the three or four most recent? Then bold content patches to stand out against bug fixes.
  • This is actually in the sidebar, but is exilestats.com still active/worth linking? Their front page still has Anarchy and Onslaught ladders...

Magnanimous2 (talk) 12:38, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for keeping up with this. I will try to get around to updating that this weekend. —Vini (t|c) 13:21, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
Season 6 has been added. Adding Twitter and the subreddit make sense, I'll do those right away as well. Do we want to change to the #pathofexile IRC or the general Gamepedia one? Or both? Lore would fit well as a subheading under the "world" section I think, does anyone disagree? 3-4 patch notes makes sense. I also need to tidy up the RSS template and remove the article dates and times. Is there something we should replace it with or simply remove altogether? I like supporting community sites with links where it makes sense. Iamacyborg (talk) 13:30, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
Lore would make most sense in the World section, probably by the Wraeclast subsection (after the Maps link or something). Cilibinarii (talk) 21:18, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Sacrifice of the Vaal[]

Well it's finally time to change the leagues on the front page... Also it may be worth adding links to Strongbox and Corrupted Area. And Vaal Skill Gems. Probably other stuff. Magnanimous2 (talk) 08:16, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

I agree with you to update the league links. Not sure about your other suggestions though. The home page already contains 152 links, which is far too much for anyone but trained wiki editors. For a newcomer, it may take more than 1 minute to read it entirely. I'd rather see links removed than added. We don't currently have links to "Melee skill gem", "Aura skill gem" or "Fire skill gem", so why add "Vaal skill gem"? Don't you think that people looking for those Vaal gems will just click the existing "Skill Gems" link and reach the exact same page as your redirect? What we really need, in my opinion, is a clean SotV article highlighted on the home page. This article would contain the links you suggest. Also, I expect a lot of users to search information about the 60 new bosses. They deserve their own page, I think, and this page should also be linked from the SotV article. Chriskang (talk) 10:47, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
You're right that it might be time to cut down on the number of links a little. I've updated the page to show the new one leagues for the moment. Iamacyborg (talk) 12:33, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
I agree with Chriskang. Would it make sense to use the version 1.1.0 page for the SotV info or no? I feel like there's no reason we can't include more info than merely patch notes on a version page. We can create a redirect from Sacrifice of the Vaal. Does this seem reasonable or should we keep the pages separate. —Vini (t|c) 14:43, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
For now, I don't mind a single page. We can still split it later if needed. Chriskang (talk) 16:04, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
Seems reasonable to me. Like Chriskang says, we can split it up later if needed. Iamacyborg (talk) 17:37, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
On second thought, I do think a more minimalist front page would look good. If you look at which pages are most visited, that would help decide which links to remove. (Trigger Gems isn't necessary, for one...) Having a SotV information page sounds like the best plan. I vote for a separate page with only the major additions, since the wall of patch notes would be intimidating and most changes aren't very important. Magnanimous2 (talk) 07:58, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
I was hoping someone would disagree with me. Thinking about it now, I think a separate page would be best. —Vini (t|c) 08:26, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Okay, I threw together a draft page with everything I considered important. Eventually (when we actually have all of the information) it should be rewritten to not just quote the patch notes. Is this what you had in mind, or something shorter? Magnanimous2 (talk) 09:10, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
I'm still unsure. It sounds quite arbitrary to select a few lines of the patch note because they are more important than the other. My personal opinion is that a socketed ring is very important (but it doesn't appear on your page) while I couldn't care less about the cut-throat leagues. To be clear: I do NOT ask you to add Unset Ring and to remove cut-throat on your page, Magnanimous2. It was just an example to show that each reader probably has a different feeling about what's "important" and therefore we should either have an exhaustive summary of the patch note or nothing at all (i.e. just a link to Version 1.1.0). I think that several information (that are not in the patch note) deserve a place on the SotV page like Lore from here and a few words about the marketing campaign (teasers history, press coverage, ...) If we really want a patch note summary, I'd rather see a list of tables in a typical purely-factual-wiki-style like this:

Chriskang (talk) 14:38, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
I agree with Chriskang, I think providing a little summary of what SotV is about alongside providing relevant factual evidence from the patch notes is the best way forward (with a link back to the notes for the exhaustive list), alongside embedding the trailer and relevant marketing art. Iamacyborg (talk) 15:23, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Alright, focusing more on lore sounds like a good idea. I'm adding the trailer, teaser images, and some art. link Magnanimous2 (talk) 19:53, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Let's add a Masters subsection under "The World"[]

Get rid of the Masters link under NPCs, and give Masters their own subsection

Laid out like this:

Masters

--Triangleguy (talk) 16:13, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Makes sense, does anyone else have any opinion on this, one way or another? Iamacyborg (talk) 18:57, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
I agree with the suggestion. —Vini (t|c) 20:38, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Done. Iamacyborg (talk) 20:44, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Upcoming Closed Beta patch notes[]

Since we have some space left in the "Latest Patch Notes" box on the frontpage; how about adding the patch notes from the upcoming closed beta beneath it? It could look something like this:

Path of Exile:

Version 1.3.1g — Released March 31, 2015

Path of Exile: The Awakening (Closed Beta):

Version 0.1.0 — Released April 20, 2015

What do you guys think? --Climmels aka SirProblematique (talk) 16:04, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

That's a good idea! I think the biggest issue we're going to see is how we maintain gem pages and anything else that's been changed. Do we update to new beta values or do we leave to current live values and update everything at the end of the beta? Iamacyborg (talk) 16:35, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
I don't think we should be removing current data while it's still live. One way would be to have a closed beta/awakening section in each old page which has new info added, which for gems could hold a re-numbered duplicate of the main table. That should still make it easy to, upon launch, merge the info into one section. Although one thing to consider is that I got the impression minor tweaks might be common during beta, so if they are fiddling with things like gem damage on a weekly basis it might be better not to try and keep that up to date on the main gem page. On the same note, we probably should hold off on any passive tree changes until things are somewhat settled.
One thing that should definitely help though would be a category for all the new and drastically changed pages, possibly with most of them linked from a main page about the awakening beta which will have sections like new gems, new items, new areas, etc. This keeps them all in one place for the convenience of those working on them, and also will help keep track of everything when it comes time to merge. --Qetuth-(talk) 05:23, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
I created The Awakening to serve as a beta index page and added all the new pages to it. I haven't created the categories, awaiting feedback, but I was thinking one category Category:The Awakening similar to Category:Forsaken Masters which will become the permanent category for v2.0 mechanics, and another maintenance category such as Category:Awakening Beta to hold everything related to the closed beta. --Qetuth-(talk) 05:44, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Front page redesign[]

I'm currently working on a redesign for the front page. The main idea behind this is to present the important bits in a readable fashion rather than an assault of links. You can see the work in progress. I'm looking for feedback. What else do people want on the front page? —Vini (t|c) 05:49, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

That looks like a massive improvement, it's much more readable and easy to navigate through to the section you're after. Do you want any Google Analytics data to see what the top pages people access are? Iamacyborg (talk) 14:05, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
I suspect I already know: Unique item, Vendor recipe system, and Skills. After that it's going to be various individual skills and uniques. —Vini (t|c) 22:40, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
Here's the top 25 pages from Jan 1st - Jun 30th: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14Rhswv7ElL_jDTIQ-fzosrCBgiaVxGYTp-2X0WX2POI/edit?usp=sharing I'll double check with people on the GP team tomo to see if I can include actual visit numbers. Unique Item page is counted twice due to redirects, but in total pageviews it's above Skills and below Quest Rewards. Iamacyborg (talk) 23:28, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
I didn't think the individual master pages would be so high up there, but I guess that makes a lot of sense. —Vini (t|c) 23:33, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, they're still relatively new which is going to be skewing things somewhat. I think people on Reddit were right that highlight mechanics pages would be useful, and a section dedicated towards newer players. Iamacyborg (talk) 01:18, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
Looks a lot less cluttered. Not sure if the skill category breakdown like curses/auras are the best use of space, rather than just skills, support, vaal. I like the equipment layout but the thing people want most from equipment is links to the unique lists. I'd like to see links to good summary pages for a few topics like races, monsters, areas, maps, mechanics (not all of which yet have good summary pages to link to). And of course the masters. I'm curious what the breakdown is of what people go to the master pages for. I'd guess one of the biggest slices would be the crafting table, in which case I wonder if we could do it like we do unique tables and have the 8 tables as pages transcluded into both their master page and a full crafting list. --Qetuth-(talk) 02:08, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
For a section for new players, rather than go back to cluttering the main, it might be better to have a short simple new player guide which can be given a single prominent link from main, that then linked to other guides and mechanic pages. Also, it might be a good idea to have a couple of links dedicated to the newest mechanics - perhaps a latest guide or feature of the month section over near the news? The jewel page and Davros70s item filter guide could be good candidates on launch. --Qetuth-(talk) 02:20, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Update! I think it's getting close to a finished product. Check out the live mockup page. I still could use some feedback. I'd like to install this in time for the release of The Awakening. —Vini (t|c) 14:10, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

That looks amazing, massive improvement from what we've currently got. I think we need to take a look at the top level equipment pages once we roll this out as they're not consistent and this new page just highlights that, and we're hitting script limits on the Weapons page. I'd also change the Version 2.0 link to go to The Awakening page instead as that will be better for newer players. What do you envisage in the featured blurb space? I've just sent Chris a message to see if we can get a proper version of The Awakening logo to include in the page which I think would look better than the current one, but that's just a small preference. Iamacyborg (talk) 14:46, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Looking really great, Vini. There are a few things that come to mind, like a link to the two current challenge leagues? Could be useful for people to check out the new mechanics (like tempests) and exclusive uniques. You could also use the league banners for that, I believe they are in the game files somewhere. Not sure if there's enough space left in the league section though. Also, Divination cards and Vaal skills are important pages that deserve a link on the front page imo. One last thought: we could (temprarily) group all new 2.0 content in one section, with Act 4, Jewels, Div cards, loot filters and the new leagues. I've noticed that people seem to be looking for an overview of all major changes in 2.0. --Climmels aka SirProblematique (talk) 14:58, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
I've got a copy of the new League flags if we need that image. Iamacyborg (talk) 15:05, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
What I had in mind for the featured blurb space, Iamacyborg, is a place for featuring slightly more in-depth information about a specific thing, such as divination cards, jewels, or the new challenge leagues. It could be rotated weekly or something. Obviously, this would require someone to write it up and to manage it though, and I don't necessarily want to put myself in the position of taking up that mantle. —Vini (t|c) 16:05, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Like it overall. Ended up larger and with more links than I was thinking though, and it's still missing entry to a few topics: Monsters, mtx and PvP. The pile of links for mechanics might look better structured more like the equipment or skills sections, a few icons for overall areas rather than a list of each individual page. Damage, Defences, Buffs and Debuffs, Keywords, Loot, or something like that? Although that would require those pages to be set up to be the entry into the mechanics sections which they are not yet.
One quibble: It's wider than my usual browser width and doesn't wrap, just scrolls. I know my window is narrower than the average these days because I have my tabs down the side instead of along the top (and because my browser lives on the smaller monitor), but it draws attention to the extra width of the middle column which looks to be the least important column. The hardcore/standard flow picture is a pretty minor thing to be one of the biggest objects on the page, I'd prefer to see it replaced with 4 icons for the current leagues across a row like the eq section. By the way, the class wheel I expected at first glance to link to the classes but it doesn't, but that might be asking a bit much.
When I mentioned having some sort of features space I said monthly because I didn't like the idea of someone having to update it any quicker. I was also thinking a smaller section of the page than that. Just a one sentence desc and link not actual explanations of the topic. --Qetuth-(talk) 23:42, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Now Live! I think it's Good Enough™ now, so I've gone ahead and put it up. Hopefully people won't berate me too much. —Vini (t|c) 09:51, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

Berate, berate...Definitely good enough. Anything else can be little fixes over time as we get feedback and redesign other parts of the site to be linked to. --Qetuth-(talk) 11:42, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
I got some feedback for the first page, it's a definite improvement but I feel like some of the explanations are too short or needs to be rephrased slightly. Exiles: Reorder how they're distinguished by priority, I'd prefer: 1. Start location on the passive skill tree, 2. Quest rewards, 3. Base attributes, 4. Appearance and voice. The World of Wraeclast: I'd prefer more grandiose descriptions of act 1 and act 2, like "Act 1, The shores of Wraeclast" or "Act 2, Wraeclast's ferocious/untamed forests" or something like that. Leagues: It should be mentioned that leagues often have different mods. Skills: I think it's important to note that jewels can be crafted, like "Jewels can be crafted and socketed in the passive skill tree to provide additional bonuses." Game Mechanics: I'd like the list in alphabetical order.Illviljan (talk) 00:58, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Wrong link[]

Link to armours in the equipment section leads to Armour instead of Armour (equipment)Freeeeez aka TheFrz – 00:53, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Time to change the featured block?[]

So there is an upcoming Ascendancy expantion, it would be great to feature it on the main page – Freeeeez aka TheFrz – 21:27, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Sounds good to me! I'm still waiting for my pc to arrive from America so I can't do any serious editing for the time being, do you have any ideas what you'd like to see in the block? Iamacyborg (talk) 22:46, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Can someone update the front page once again? — Freeeeez aka TheFrz – 00:04, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

I replaced talisman league with perandus league. Featured article should be changed to something ascendancy related to. What do you think? the labyrinth, or ascendancy classes, or coins? --Qetuth-(talk) 02:21, 8 March 2016 (UTC)
I vote for ascendancy classes. But it's definetly worth to mention that it's very connected to the labyrinth, like player has to finish it to get an ascendancy class and points — Freeeeez aka TheFrz – 02:41, 8 March 2016 (UTC)
Added ascendancy classes feature. Please suggest improvements. --Qetuth-(talk) 02:59, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Happy holidays notice on front page[]

Anyone else think we should add a happy holiday notice on the front page now for the duration of the holdiays? --OmegaK2 (t|c) 21:24, 24 December 2015 (UTC)

I have no problem with it. —Vini (t|c) 21:32, 24 December 2015 (UTC)

Why is it called unofficial Wiki?[]

I think it has a slight negative tone to it, don't you think? How about "The community maintained Path of Exile Wiki" instead? This maybe reminds people that they can edit it as well.--Illviljan (talk) 22:15, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

I like that. Sounds good to me. Any objections? —Vini (t|c) 01:37, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
Sounds like the best solution to me so far --OmegaK2 (t|c) 02:09, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
And my axe. Iamacyborg (talk) 10:40, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

I must agree[]

The official website of the "Path of Exile," we have the link "Game"-> "Community Wiki"-> http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Path_of_Exile_Wiki. We are not, after all, a closed community-we work for the good of the players. Beyeswhite (talk) 23:45, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

A New Beginner's Guide Series[]

I've just watched great guide series on YT (found on reddit). As a lot of new players are starting PoE after 3.0.0 announcement and way more will come after its release, what do you think about adding a link to it on the main page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Amongalen (talkcontribs) 20:55, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

I'm not in favor of promoting it from the main page, since the main page is intended primarily to be an overview of some of the more important articles on the wiki. However, I would not be opposed to including an external link to the guide playlist on the Frequently asked questions article, the Diablo Player's Guide to Path of Exile article, or both. —Vini (t|c) 01:50, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Ability list order[]

I'm triggered that abilities are currently listed in the order "Attacks", "Warcries", "Spells". Can we have spells come after attacks, please? To indicate how fundamental they are. If we were to get super OCD about it, Attacks, Spells, Curses, Warcries, Auras, Traps, Minions, Totems. Or something resembling that. I don't think people use Warcries (or Curses?) as consistently as Auras, but I wanted Curses and Warcries adjacent. Maybe Attacks, Spells, Minions, Totems, Traps, Auras, Curses, Warcries? Um. SeventhSolar (talk) 00:23, 3 June 2017 (UTC)

I'll change it, but only because you gave a semi-plausible reason besides, "It annoys me." —Vini (t|c) 00:29, 3 June 2017 (UTC)

Frontpage 3.0.0 update[]

The front page still features the Atlas, I think it should be featuring the Pantheon now It also says there are 4 acts and it mentions the difficulties, which should be updated —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 7Soul1 (talkcontribs)

Thanks for reminding me. I'll update it this weekend. —Vini (t|c) 19:40, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

Link to official site[]

It seems rather odd that there's no link to the official site or GGG on the main page. Is there a legal reason for this? It would strike me as normal to head the wiki with something along the lines of

Path of Exile is an online Action-RPG game for the PC, Xbox and PS4 by Grinding Gear Games.

I assume it's not possible to provide a link to the official site in the left side bar for some reason. If it is possible, I think it should be done. - Potenzo (talk)

About pages for map items[]

Issue moved Moved

Discussion moved to Path of Exile Wiki talk:Community portal.

This talk page is for discussing the main page.

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

There's a page for every single map base from every generation, and it's a mess of nearly identical and not so useful pages. My idea is to instead have a single page for every map base, which would mention legacy versions with old tiers and icons. What do you think, anyone? --OneMore (talk) 21:26, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Changing the featured article[]

Cluster jewels have been the featured article since march of last year at the very least based on the page history, new year new featured article? Chesse20 (talk) 07:25, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

Sure. Suggest something.Vinifera7 (talk) 10:19, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
The page for the Heist mechanics seems to very well written and in depth so it might be a good fit Chesse20 (talk) 11:38, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
I haven no problem with that. I know you can't edit the page yourself, but write it here and I'll put it up. Vinifera7 (talk) 18:08, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

3.14[]

It need to change to the current league instead of Ritual league. Neokowloon (talk) 23:05, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Done. I keep forgetting that Ultimatum is different than Ritual league. —Vini (t|c) 23:11, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Why the fuck did the wiki change?[]

This new wiki is horrible. Less information, less organisation, less structure, ads everywhere, irrelevant links everywhere... Who was the fucking idiot that decided to use this format?? Go back to the way it was before! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ciribomflax (talkcontribs) 09:03, 21 July 2021‎ (UTC)

See Help:FandomDesktop. The answer to your question is there, such as it is. Yes, the new theme it's horrible. Nobody asked for it. Nobody wants it. Fandom is still going to have their way and force it down our throats. —Vini (t|c) 09:26, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
