Guardians are a powerful option for support Templars dedicated to partying, possessing passives that greatly benefit multiple party members. Even as a solo character, Guardians themselves can benefit from its selection of defensive passives.

Radiant Faith is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Guardian that grants Radiant Faith buff.
Note: Because Radiant Faith is classified as an aura buff and not an aura skill / aura skill gem, mods such as #% increased effect of Non-Curse Auras from your Skills does not increase the amount of Armour and Energy Shield granted from this ascendancy passive skill. However, those receiving the buff can increase the amounts received by their own Increased Armour and Increased Energy Shield stats.
Note, that while the wording is similar to the Hierophant's Sanctuary of Thought, the mechanics are quite different. Sanctuary of thought functions as a conversion so Increased Maximum Mana and Increased Maximum Energy Shield mods stack with each other additively. Radiant Faith grants the percentage of your actual mana as base energy shield, so Increased Maximum Mana and Increased Maximum Energy Shield effectively stack multiplicatively with each other, which allows for extreme stacking of energy shield with proper gear.

Unwavering Faith is a Notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Guardian that grants physical damage reduction and life regeneration to the player and his allies for each of his non-curse auras.
Mechanics
The effects of Unwavering Faith behave like an aura and are added onto the effects of whatever non-curse auras the player has cast. Thus, the effects that are granted can be further enhanced by the Guardian's own Aura Effect stat, with the resulting effect always being rounded down to the nearest integer for the physical damage reduction, and rounded down to the nearest tenth for the life regeneration. For example, a Guardian with six auras active and 50% Increased Aura Effect will grant 1% physical damage reduction and 0.3% life regeneration per aura (not 1.5% phys. dmg. reduction), granting a total of 6% physical damage reduction and 1.8% life regeneration. Note the damage reduction is not 9%, as one might initially expect; this is the result of the rounding down per aura.

Bastion of Hope is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Guardian that a large amount of block chance periodically and grants stun immunity to the player and nearby allies in a radius of 60 if you have blocked in the past 10 seconds. It also grants you and your allies block or spell block chance if you've used an attack or spell recently, respectively.
