Sword

Swords are a are a type of melee weapon that comes in three item classes: One Handed Swords, Thrusting One Handed Swords and Two Handed Swords.

One Handed Swords and Two Handed Swords require strength and dexterity to equip, and provide increased x% increased Accuracy Rating rating as an implicit modifier.

Thrusting One Handed Swords require dexterity, and provide +x% to Global Critical Strike Multiplier as an implicit modifier.

Local modifiers only affect the item they appear on, for instance, Local Accuracy will only affect the sword it is on. It won't affect the damage on an off-hand weapon when dual-wielding, and won't increase physical damage granted from other items like rings. Global modifiers increase your stats across the board, unlike Local modifiers.
